The new strand of The Auralia Thread will be called Raven’s Ladder.
I hope you like it. Tonight (all night) and tomorrow morning (all morning) I am packaging up my first draft for the editor. I have that familiar sensation of excitement and nerves and relief and apprehension…
Anyway, that’s what I’m doing tonight. What are you doing?
You’re watching the trailer for the new Jim Jarmusch film… at Twitch.
Raven is the name of a villain in my story. I’m afraid ever since then the name has carried a bit of a chill with it for me.
That link is a little mangled; I think you meant to point us here: http://twitchfilm.net/site/view/jim-jarmusch-explores-the-limits-of-control/
Well, I WAS procrastinating before I start editing a novel for a friend of mine. But at this moment I’m being really excited that Raven’s Ladder is that much closer to publication. I helped tour Cyndere’s Midnight for the CSFF blog tour and discovered the first two books then. Definitely a fan :).
Jeffrey,
I’m glad I found this on your regular blog since it didn’t post on the Auralia’s Colors page.
You have my interest pepper-picante-piqued about “Raven’s Ladder”. So what happened to the “Cal”? Did his name change? Did *he* change? Is this someone else? Hmmmmm…. I can hear your laughter as we all fidget.
Okay, so I can’t wait! Will there be any advanced reading copies available?!
-Robert
In this story, we see that a character who is particularly close to Cal-raven calls him “Raven.” But there is also a chapter in which he arrives at something called “the Ladder of Ravens.” And, as with Cyndere’s Midnight, the title might be referring to more than one thing — in either a particular or poetic sense.
ARCs won’t be available until after a long period of revision, so stay tuned.
Hah, now I have more questions to keep me awake at night.
Thanks for the peek though!
