Wouldn’t it be timely and rewarding if someone hosted a film festival to provoke discussion on the ongoing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians?
I asked the Arts and Faith folks what films they would recommend for such a festival, and the list of titles is growing.
I’m setting up a viewing and discussion of the documentary called Promises on Thursday. That will be for me and my coworkers. But I’d recommend that you look over this thread and set up your own community screening, or even a small film festival, in order to inspire reflection and conversation, and to deepen our understanding of the nightmare currently playing out on the other side of the globe.
It can do more than educate us. It can focus our prayers.
A wartime festival already exists –just not from a Christian worldview. It’s Michael Moore’s festival he started in Traverse Cuuty last year. This year, it was almost all docs and dramas about the Middle East.
Oh, and he also showed that WONDERFUl doc that made me wince, “Jesus Camp.”
i love Promises, this is an excellent doc. i showed to students i teach.
