This review of The New World made me applaud.
It’s just so terribly exciting when somebody gets what is so brilliant about this film. And Davis hits the nail on the head when he describes Malick’s bold choices.
I’ve read long, rambling reviews trying to find words for why the film works. And I’ve written a few of those reviews.
Davis clearly and efficiently captures what’s so great about this story.
Thank you, Robert Davis, wherever you are.
I noticed the movie was given 4 1/2 stars. Is that out of 5 or 4? I would be curious to hear why the 1/2 star was taken away if the scale is 5 stars. Were some parts too slow for the reviewer, were there too many breaks in the story line, were some scenes not believable?
5 stars don’t go to The New World, they belong to A Perfect World.
