I’ve been waiting for news about the next Paul Thomas Anderson film for a long, long time.
At last, the official PTA site has the news.
The director of Magnolia and Punch-Drunk Love is taking on Oil, a 1927 novel by Upton Sinclair.
The site says, “It’s a tale of of scandal, intrigue and politics. It looks like Daniel Day-Lewis will be the star.”
Okay. I’m going to try to remain calm, but … my favorite American director AND my favorite film star?
THanks for the upadte Jeffrey – I’ve been waiting to hear what PTA’s next project was going to be for a while, and if it’s got Daniel Day Lewis in it as well then I can’t wait to see it. (If he can get the performance out of Adam Sandler that he did in Punch Drunk Love just think what him and Day-Lewis can do together)
Matt
Hate to say this, but I think I’d have to give the nod to Shaun Of The Dead.
but “the passion” was more horrifying. “shaun of the dead” was just a better horror movie, but there really wasn’t much horror.
i say, for sheer horror, can’t beat ‘the passion.’
ohhh, i’m gonna get in trouble again. at least i didn’t say that ‘shaun’ is a better movie than ‘passion.’ ooops.
