You never know what you’ll find in the process of open heart surgery.
My wife Anne found one of her best pieces of writing…
It went like this.
Several years ago, my wife Anne and I traveled to be with her family as her father underwent open heart surgery. The experience was filled with tension and worry, but led ultimately to prayers of gratitude.
But something else came out of the experience: one of Anne’s finest poems.
It’s in her new book Delicate Machinery Suspended, and it’s featured now at Beliefnet.
Speaking of Anne, she’s all over the place this week.
She’s interviewed about her poetry…
here,
here,
and here.
