Here’s the deal:
Come to the Laity Lodge Writer’s Retreat, September 30 – October 3.
I have the incredible privilege of spending a weekend at one of my favorite places in the world, talking about my favorite subject. I’ll get to work with you on writing great stories in a fiction workshop… or you can sign up for any of the following: spiritual writing, poetry, songwriting, or “the writing life.” You can also sign up for one-on-one tutorials with a celebrated novelist.
And we’re going to have some incredibly inspiring company. Find out who else will be there.
Jeffrey, I’m looking for a little insight/advice on how an unpublished writer might approach such a retreat. I’m ~15% into writing the first draft of a sci-fi novel with some spiritual themes. Would a person such as myelf come with some of the written pages? Or come with the outline to share? Or…?
I feel like I should begin participating in things like this, but am unsure of how to approach them.
Thanks for any thoughts you can share.
-Rick
I can’t even begin to describe how much I want to go to this retreat. I grew up spending summers on that river, and it’s where I met God. It’s the holiest place in Texas (which is, of course, the best part of the universe). Have to search the teacher budget for the money. 🙂
