I love it!
No, I’m not the biggest sports fan, but of all the sports, I would think soccer would be the closest thing to your taste in film. Nice and slow, fluid, takes some patience, but with some great payoff in the end. It can be a poetic game.
Or, another way of looking at it. You can draw similar conclusions about cultures by examining their films or their sports. Futball feels like a lot of foreign films I’ve seen. Football feels like a lot of American blockbusters I avoid.
My husband and I have friends in South Africa. We were trying to work it out so we could visit them and go to a few games, but couldn’t get the details to fall right. 🙁
Also, even if you’re not a soccer fan, whatever you put U2 music to always helps.

…but nate, I love your comment on futball vs. football. Perfect.
