It was twenty years ago today…
Do you remember?
What was it like, seeing that on television for the first time?
Me? It transformed what I knew was possible in a serial storytelling format. It changed the way I told stories. And David Lynch and Mark Frost owned an hour of my week for the duration of the series. Even when they left the series, and it plunged into misguided plotlines and ridiculous soap-opera melodrama, I remained loyal, hoping they’d return and set things right. With the unforgettable series finale… they did what was necessary, and it was all worth it.
Man, I was just a kid when this came out but I remember being totally enthralled by it. Now you’ve made me want to watch it again….
I was 7 when the show aired, so I’m catching up with it now. When does it all start coming together and making sense?
when exactly did frost and lynch leave the series? all of season 2 except the finale? I am working on season 1 right now, and if I should skip the soap-opera-ey episodes, please let me know which ones they are!
