No, this picture has nothing to do with my upcoming sequel to Auralia’s Colors, Cyndere’s Midnight.
Cyndere’s Midnight is, however, a “beauty and the beast story.” My version has a whole bunch of beasts. Beastmen, more specifically. Sinister human/animal hybrids that lurk in the woods around the various civilizations of the Expanse.
I wrote the first draft of the book in 1997.
The book is coming out in September.*
And this subject is suddenly getting more media attention, making me very nervous. Is the nightmare I envisioned for the Expanse (inspired, of course, by H.G. Wells’ The Island of Dr. Moreau, and by the invention of the Replicants in Blade Runner, and various other sources) about to become all too real?
First of all, chimeras are VERY frightening business. Business, sadly, seems to be what they’re all about in today’s scientific community. What would Mary Shelley say?
Secondly . . . Jeffrey, are you saying the cover for Cyndere‚Äôs Midnight is actually going to be cooler that the one on Amazon?! Wow. I would say thee nay but I’ll wait until the final is posted!
