CAN YOU HEAR ME?
I CAN’T HEAR MYSELF!
MY EARS ARE RINGING, AFTER MORE THAN THREE HOURS OF STANDING NEAR THE FRONT OF A WILD-AND-CRAZY CROWD WHILE THREE LOUD, LOUD BANDS ROARED THEMSELVES HOARSE: GOSSIP, LCD SOUNDSYSTEM, AND THE ARCADE FIRE!
MOSHING IS SO 1994, BUT APPARENTLY NOBODY’S NOTICED!! I’M EXHAUSTED!! TERRIBLE WALL-OF-SOUND ACOUSTICS!! EARSPLITTING FEEDBACK!! AND THEN THE ARCADE FIRE’S TSUNAMI OF NOISE!!
BUT ARCADE FIRE MADE IT OH-SO-WORTH IT!!
SET LIST: BLACK MIRROR / KEEP THE CAR RUNNING / LAIKA / NO CARS GO / HAITI / SUBMARINE / NEON BIBLE / BLACK WAVE / INTERVENTION / ANTICHRIST TV BLUES / THE WELL AND THE LIGHTHOUSE / TUNNELS / POWER OUT / REBELLION / ENCORES: HEADLIGHTS LIKE DIAMONDS, WAKE UP
THIS WAS PRETTY CLOSE TO THE VIEW FROM WHERE I STOOD. (This picture’s from here.)
I CAN ACTUALLY SEE MYSELF IN THIS PHOTO (ABOUT ONE-THIRD FROM THE LEFT):
CAN YOU HEAR ME??
I CAN’T HEAR YOU!!
The Arcade Fire was AWESOME.
I also really enjoyed the LCD Sound System. I’d only heard of him (them?) in posts.
Did they end with the song about New York at your show?
The Arcade Fire were hands down the best.
I still have Black Mirror stuck in my head.
Not sure why.
Can’t. Get. It. Out.
