Yikes.
He has NOT owned up to anti-semitic remarks…just “belligerent behavior”.
I dunno Kris…from his statement: “I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said, and I apologize to anyone who I have offended.”
I don’t think it’s a question in anyone’s mind that “despicable” refers to the anti-semitic and sexist statements.
Maybe he should “name” his sins?
Yesterday while seeing the news on this I was struck at how similar Gibson is to Biblical characters. He’s, in a way, a modern day David or something. Blessed by God, but still manages to get himself into problems and such. Hopefully things end in a better David way.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. We do not know what is going on in Mel’s heart. He is a brother in Christ just like any other believer. We shouldn’t hold him to any more or any less of a standard just because he is famous. He messed up. If he is trully sorry and has repented that is awesome. If not, that is between him and God.
that’s unfortunate, talk about bad press.

Man, I watched about 10 minutes of the report on the news last night and I’m sick of the “SPIN” on this already.
“Is Mel Gibson’s Career Over”?
In the entire report I never heard anything about drunk driving, Sexism, his apology – nothing.
All they could talk about was Anti-Semitism and how Hollywood wanted to throw him out.
Please! Could we round up all the media and make them sit down and watch “Good Night and Good Luck”? Let’s see some journalism for once that tells the whole story – and not taking some piece of said story and turning it in to something totally off the mark.
