Milton did a better job of “justifying the ways of God to man” than these filmmakers could do of justifying the adaptation of this epic poem into a movie…
Hyde Park Entertainment and Vincent Newman Entertainment have partnered to produce a feature version of John Milton’s epic poem, Paradise Lost, based on an adaptation by Phil DiBlasi and Byron Willinger.
I have a bad feeling about this “Paradise Lost” project. They’re almost certain to take the old Romantic “Satan’s the real hero!” line (thanks for nothing, Percy Shelley!) and completely miss the point. Bah. Humbug!
i completely agree with bethr…Lets hope they dont take the old romantic view of “Satan’s the real hero”…when in fact the real hero is mentioned in the first four lines of Paradise lost!!!
Of man’s first disobedience, and the fruit of that forbidden tree, whose mortal taste brought death into the world, and all our woe,
With loss of Eden, TILL ONE GREATER MAN RESTORE US, AND REGAIN THE BLISSFUL SEAT…the obvious hero: no contest…Christ in God
