According to IMAX, The Hobbit will answer Gandalf’s knock in 2012

Heat Vision:

“The Hobbit” is coming to theaters sooner than you think, but later than you initially thought.

Let’s clear it up.

I don’t care if it’s in 3D. I don’t even care if it’s in IMAX. I just care about the quality of the script, the effects, the cinematography, the cast… you know, the movie. I want it to be something that would have pleased Tolkien. As far as that goes, it’s hard to be optimistic.

    Oh my goodness, I have to agree with you that IMAX, 3D, all that stuff is just extra. If it’s not the same quality as LOTR was without the extras, it will be a disappointment. But I am oh so very excited for it!!! I wonder if anyone will get to doing the Silmarillion in film?
