I keep waiting for someone to say “Joke.”
Mel Gibson returns.
This is… unexpected.

I’ll believe it when I see it…Mel’s been rumored to be making a comeback to acting for years.
Still, I find that I do miss his presence in action films and comedy…he’s got such a great wit, so maybe this will be fun. I still am crossing my fingers for the return of Martin Riggs one day.

I’m all for it, personally. Mel Gibson is a great comedic actor.
It should be noted, though, that his official return to acting is Martin Campbell’s Edge of Darkness, which will be released next year and which sounds like a pretty strong film, based on the creative team and cast.

All the trades are reporting it, so it looks like he’s back. I’m a big Mel Gibson fan, both as an actor and director. Good to see he’s back in business. Hopefully the film will be good now…

Can anyone say “Lars and the Real Girl”, only in this case “Mel and the Real Beaver”? The movie sounds as weird in concept as “Lars…”, but that movie was well done. It all depends, I guess, on the script. And at least Michael Bay isn’t directing it, eh?

My thought too, Rick. Only I was actually kind of hoping that they would call it “Lars and the Real Squirrel” but that would be hoping for far too much.

This, little children, is what happens when you drink and drive. And knock-up your teenage midlife crisis.
