The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has a writer. Again. Move over, Richard LaGravanese.
Michael Petroni has been tapped to write the next installment in “The Chronicles of Narnia” franchise.

Petroni landed the “Narnia” gig based on his recent work for Fox 2000, including a rewrite of the Kevin Lima directing vehicle “Afterlife,” an adaptation of Markus Zusak’s novel “The Book Thief” and a rewrite of the Julia Roberts starrer “Daniel Isn’t Talking.”

I’m not sure if I should be worried or not about the new Narnia writer…I’ve heard of the movie ‘The Book Thief’ (I think I’ve actually picked it up once or twice to rent), but I was happy with the former writer. Maybe I’ll get lucky and this will be more like the Harry Potter writer change out and less like the X-Men Last Stand writer change out….

I maintain that Weir is the best choice to helm ENDER’S GAME, should that film ever get to the screen. But it’s good to see he’s got another film on the way. Can’t wait.
